The purpose of this smoothie is to promote excretion of the digestive enzymes that will target and break down belly fat. It can also help with gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and indigestion.
Though fresh is best, if you want to make this in bulk for the week, take this recipe and multiply its ingredients by 5-7 (depending.) Pour into single-serving containers and freeze. Then remove, re-blend and enjoy!
-1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
-1 lemon, peeled
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1/2 green organic apple, cored
1/2 cup packed fresh, organic basil leaves
1/2 organic cucumber
2 cups water
1/2-1 cup ice
Optional: birch xylitol or pure stevia to taste, if you need more sweetness.
Directions: dry-blend the pumpkin seeds. Add the lemon, chia seeds, apple, basil cucumber, water and ice. Blend until smooth.
